Definition:

Access is the ability to secure effective, quality-assured medicines, tests and vaccines. All people have the right to receive the treatments they require to stay alive. By ensuring equitable access, a high standard of health for all is achievable.

Having a medicine doesn’t mean everyone can use it. For true access, it must be there when needed, priced fairly, and suited to the people and places that rely on it. To achieve this fairness, strong systems are needed to finance healthcare, deliver medicine, manage supplies, and ensure safety regulations are met.
