In this webinar, the speakers gave presentations on the current challenges in the control of sexually transmitted infections and the new technology that may help address these challenges.

- Clinical challenges: Syndromic management limitations, Limited treatment options, Management of treatment failures (Francis Ndowa)
- Patient perspective: DCE on service delivery preferences for STI care amongst youth in South Africa (Catherine Martin)
The presentations were followed by a panel discussion with Teodora Wi (WHO), Thato Chidarikire (NDH), Cecilia Ferreyra (FIND), Fernando Pascual Martinez (GARDP) and Sam Phiri (Partners in Hope Malawi).
These presentations were also part of the satellite session “Challenges for STI control and new technology and strategies to overcome those challenges” that was held at the 2021 International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa (ICASA).
