Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Conference (ACC)

The Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Conference is an annual, free of charge, online conference, co-organized by GARDP and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). Registrations for ACC2026 taking place on 4-5 February 2026 are open – click here!

Each year’s ACC brings together researchers, clinicians and other stakeholders from around the world to present and discuss advances in antimicrobial drug discovery, preclinical and clinical development, stewardship, access and regulatory challenges. Started in 2019 as an in-person conference, ACC shifted to its current online format in 2021 to allow people worldwide to tune in and take part. In addition to this, each year, ACC ‘travels’ virtually by having partner organizations from key regions helping us shape the topics for the year.

Across sessions, ACC covers a broad spectrum: from early-stage discovery of novel antibiotics to preclinical development, clinical trial design and regulatory pathways, and challenges around antimicrobial resistance, stewardship and equitable access. Each session concludes with a live Q&A where questions from the audience are submitted to the speakers.

The conference’s innovative virtual platform extends the attendees’ experience beyond the live sessions. Participants can connect and interact seamlessly from anywhere in the world and can exchange ideas in real time with each other. The platform also features a virtual exhibition area showcasing not-for-profit organizations engaged in antimicrobial research, access, and funding. Additionally, the annual virtual poster session invites scientists globally to display their work in an online gallery, with many posters accompanied by short video presentations from their authors, allowing participants to explore the material at their own pace.
