Assaf Raz established Precisio Biotix Therapeutics and leads the company’s research team.  He has been instrumental in driving the development of the staphylococcal lysin LYSG101 from the bench stage to first-in-human compassionate use. He also played a key role in securing a $2.5M out-licensing deal in China and a $1.5M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Under his leadership, the research team has discovered and patented multiple lysin assets targeting a range of indications, with a focus on topical and mucosal dysbiosis.

Assaf earned his PhD from Rockefeller University, where his research focused on developing phage lysins and related molecules as alternatives to conventional antibiotics to combat the global AMR crisis.
