Luka Srot works as Associate Director in Health Security at IFPMA, which represents the innovative pharmaceutical industry at the international level and in official relations with the United Nations. In his role, Luka is responsible for the organization’s policy and advocacy work on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), including the cross-functional area of AMR & vaccines. Luka engages across industry and the global health community to identify solutions against AMR, with a focus on enabling AMR-related innovation, mechanisms and models to support antibiotic access, and policies to improve the impact of vaccination in mitigating the threat of AMR.
Luka has led the development of several industry positions and reports on AMR-related issues and has represented the industry in expert discussions and other multi-stakeholder collaborations. Among others, he has contributed to work led by the WHO, Center for Global Development, Global AMR R&D Hub, AMR Global Leaders Group, and others. Previously, Luka worked in the AMR Industry Alliance Secretariat, including as the interim Secretariat Lead, where he managed the organization’s strategic development. Luka holds a master’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. He completed part of his master’s thesis at the Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Netherlands.
