The GARDP Scientific Affairs team is supporting the community to support antimicrobial drug discovery and R&D. This is by connecting researchers with established and retired antibiotic researchers and developers, and facilitating learning and knowledge exchange via various activities, many of which are delivered via REVIVE’s network and website.
REVIVE as part of GARDP may obtain personal data from you either directly, from your interactions with this Website, or from your participation in social media accounts maintained by REVIVE. You may also visit other websites part of the REVIVE network (GARDP.org or Powerofantibiotics Websites), which have their own specific privacy notices.
“Personal Data” is any information about you that identifies you directly or indirectly, either alone or in combination with other information made available to REVIVE. What personal data does REVIVE collect?
Information that you provide to REVIVE voluntarily:
When you subscribe to our Newsletter: the minimum mandatory information collected is your email address; additional information may be provided if you wish to do so.
When you make an enquiry: This may include your name, telephone, address, email address, photos of you, date of birth and other Personal Data REVIVE would not ask you to provide but volunteered or made public by you.
The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data for the purpose of sending you Newsletters, inviting you to webinars or responding to your queries is your consent.
Information that is collected automatically:
Information REVIVE collect about you that may contain Personal Data also includes technical data including online identifiers, your login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform; and information about your visit, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from our sites (including date and time).
The legal basis for the processing of your Personal Data collected automatically is either your consent, or our legitimate interests, as a not-for-profit organization that needs to interact with the Users interested by our action against drug-resistant infections.
You are not obliged to provide any Personal Data or refuse to accept automated collection such as cookies (please see our Cookies policy), however you may not be able to use certain features / services of this website when Personal Data is necessary, for example your email address is necessary to receive our newsletter.
What REVIVE does with your personal information
REVIVE uses information held about you, whether spontaneously received from you, or received from the third parties mentioned above, only for the purposes listed below:
- Provide you with information and services that you request from REVIVE for example the newsletter or our webinars;
- Provide access to such services and interactive features on our sites that you have subscribed to and to notify you of any changes;

How REVIVE shares your personal data

REVIVE also shares your Personal Data with the following parties under appropriate legal bases or / and transfer mechanisms:
- Any GARDP regional offices on a worldwide basis to the extent that they need to have access to your Personal Data for the purposes set out in the above section;
- Suppliers and service providers to the extent necessary for REVIVE’s legitimate business purposes and provided that REVIVE has put in place adequate contracts to protect your data;
- Analytics and search engine providers that assist REVIVE in the improvement and optimization of this Website; and,
- Providers of customer relationship management, e-mail distribution, and fundraising services.
REVIVE will only otherwise disclose your Personal Data to any other third parties if REVIVE is under a duty to disclose or share your personal data to comply with any legal obligation, or to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or to protect the property, rights or safety of REVIVE, our licensors or others.
How and where REVIVE stores your personal data
The data that REVIVE collects from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside of Switzerland and the European Economic Area (”EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside of Switzerland and the EEA who work for REVIVE or for one of our suppliers. This includes staff engaged in, among other things, the processing of any payment details and the provision of support services. All information you provide to REVIVE is stored on our secure servers or secure servers managed on REVIVE’s behalf.
REVIVE will only store the data that REVIVE holds about you for as long as necessary for the purpose you provided it for. Beyond that, REVIVE may retain data to comply with our legal and contractual obligations for a duration in accordance with the applicable laws or regulations.
REVIVE usually retains data for no more than five years unless REVIVE needs to retain it for longer to comply with our legal and contractual obligations.
REVIVE will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with applicable laws.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for the access to, amendment, restriction or deletion of your Personal Data at any time. You also have the right to remove your consent to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of your consent, and to object to the processing of your Personal Data performed on the basis of REVIVE legitimate interests. Your Personal Data will be provided in a commonly used readable format. You can exercise and enforce your rights at any time by contacting REVIVE at mydataprivacy@gardp.org If you feel that REVIVE has not appropriately handled the matter, you also have the right to refer the matter to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) of Switzerland.
How REVIVE deals with information from children under sixteen
This Website is not directed at children. REVIVE does not knowingly collect any Personal Data about children on this Website or for the purposes mentioned in this Privacy Notice. If Personal Data about children has been mistakenly provided to REVIVE and you would like to request that such Personal Data is removed, please refer to our Contact section below.
