Katie Prosen joined the regulatory affairs team at Venatorx Pharmaceuticals in 2021. Prior to this, she managed the data-sharing initiative; ‘Shared Platform for Antibiotic Research and Knowledge’ (SPARK) at the Pew Charitable Trusts.
Katie has worked on small molecule antibiotics at the Novartis Institutes of BioMedical Research and antibacterial vaccines at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, both in the USA as well as antibacterial antibodies in the biotechnology sector. She has significant experience with antibiotic susceptibility testing and mechanism of action studies, as well as in assay development and optimization. Katie also has an interest in further improving data sharing and open data to support the antibiotic discovery field.
Katie performed her graduate research at the University of South Florida and received an MSc in Microbiology for her work on a novel small molecule inhibitor of Staphylococcus aureus.
