Phoebe Williams is a paediatrician and infectious diseases physician who works as a clinician in Sydney, Australia, whilst also leading a neonatal sepsis research programme across Southeast Asia (the NeoSEAP project – Neonatal Sepsis in Southeast Asia and the Pacific).
Phoebe completed her PhD at the University of Oxford’s Tropical Medicine Network Unit in Kilifi, Kenya, undertaking a PK trial to evaluate alternative antibiotic regimens to treat neonatal sepsis in the context of rising antimicrobial resistance. Phoebe has worked as a paediatrician in urban and rural health settings throughout Australia and in resource-constrained healthcare settings in Africa and Southeast Asia. She serves on the World Health Oragnization’s Paediatric Drug Optimisation Committee (PADO) and is the chief investigator of a clinical trial to identify better treatment regimens for antibiotic-resistant urinary tract infections in children.
